モスタル

Mostar means "keeper of bridge". Actually the town is symbolized by "Stari Most", meaning an old bridge,
connecting the eastern and wester parts of the town with Neretva River in the center.
The beautiful biridge, which is a World Heritage, was destroyed during the civil war in 1993, but restored
in 2004 with international support.
モスタルという地名は「橋守」を意味する。町は、ネレトヴァ川の両岸を結ぶ「スタリ・モスタル」、
即ち「古い橋」に象徴される。世界遺産であるこの美しい橋は、内戦中の1993年に破壊されてしまったが、
国際的な支援により、2004年に修復された。
