Arrival in Sarajevo

The train from Budapest arrived at Sarajevo at night. It was past 9 o'clock.

There was no money changer at the station. The ATM next to the station had been closed. However, a kiosk in front of the station kindly changed a small amount of Euro to the local currency so that I could take a tram to my guest house in the downtown area.

The city was relatively dark. It passed the buildings which had stood even in the warefare and also the rebuilt bridge where the World War I was triggered. Soon after the tram changed its direction to go back to the station, I left it to check in at my geust house Halvat which I found in a web site of a Japanese who lived in London and for which I had made a reservation sending an e-mail. I was warmly welcomed.
